Christmas laser-lights - Use with responsibility
Budapest, (Dec. 15, 2018). - Each holiday season HungaroControl receives several reports from pilots due to distraction by residential laser-lights which can temporarily blind them.
People may not realize that those laser-light systems they set up to spread holiday cheer can also pose a potential hazard to pilots flying overhead. Hungarian Air Navigation Service Provider HungaroControl Plc. would like to draw attention to the proper installation of holiday laser-light systems in front of the citizen’s homes. It is important to make sure the lights are pointed at the buildings and not targeting the sky. The laser-light is a potential safety risk to aircraft even from a ten km distance. Laser-lights are dangerous for aviation, use them with care.
