HungaroControl upgrades its ATC System with Thales’ TopSky - ATC One offering and joins Alliance One users’ group
On December 9th, Thales and HungaroControl, recognized as one of Europe's most innovative air navigation service providers, signed a contract for the upgraded version of Thales’ TopSky - ATC system. This cutting-edge system is designed to ensure safe and seamless air traffic operations, optimized to meet the growing demands of increasing air traffic flows. Through this collaboration, HungaroControl joins Alliance One, a dynamic and innovative initiative that connects users of the upgraded TopSky-ATC system. Within Alliance One, air navigation service providers (ANSPs) and Thales will work together to shape the future of industry Concepts of Operations (CONOPS) and address critical needs, thereby developing a comprehensive roadmap for the system’s evolution.
In line with the European Union’s goal of establishing a Single European Sky (SES), HungaroControl and Thales are committed to enhancing the harmonization and optimization of air traffic management across Europe.
The upgraded TopSky - ATC solution significantly improves data integration and flight planning, leading to better monitoring and accuracy in tracking aircraft trajectories. Its advanced real-time decision support capabilities enable more effective management of critical and complex situations, ultimately enhancing the safety and efficiency of aircraft operations. Additionally, the new business model for TopSky - ATC provides users with long-term ATC budget planning visibility, ensures regulatory compliance, and strengthens cybersecurity while adding new functionalities.
The development of the new TopSky-ATC release is supported by an innovative governance structure that fosters collaboration, shared decision-making, and ownership among Alliance One members. By aligning priorities and harmonizing needs among ANSPs, Thales’ approach facilitates the continuous development of a product that evolves regularly to meet the ever-changing demands of the industry.
Thales remains committed to evolving its TopSky-ATC system in alignment with the priorities of its ANSP clients, continuously adapting to meet industry standards. This dedication significantly enhances the safety, efficiency, and sustainability of air traffic across Europe.
