SOCEA Strengthens Europe–Asia Air Traffic Cooperation at High-Level Meeting in Budapest

SOCEA successfully concluded its high-level coordination meeting today under the leadership of SOCEA President, Mr. Farhan Guliyev, Head of the Air Navigation Service Provider (ANSP) of Azerbaijan.

The high-level coordination meeting was joined by SOCEA members from Azeraeronavigation Air Traffic Department “AZANS”, Uzaeronavigatsia, Kyrgyzaeronavigatsia, Kazaeronavigatsia, DHMI and Hungarocontrol strengthening cooperation, governance and coordinated safety oversight among European and Asian Air Navigation Service Providers.

The meeting marked important milestones insofar the progress achieved in the development of the ConOps and Data Sharing Policy. Presentations were delivered by several ANSPs outlining actions taken in response to the effects of the ongoing  war in Ukraine and the crisis in the Middle East on air traffic.

HungaroControl shared some insight on policy and technical developments from an EU perspective.

Chairman of the Executive Board Dr. Cengiz Paşaoğlu, Deputy Director General of DHMI and outgoing President of SOCEA informed the members on the deliberations of its first meeting held recently “We are pleased with the progress achieved so far adding value to SOCEA’s future”

On behalf of HungaroControl, Mr. Ferenc Turi CEO HungaroControl emphasized that “as a new member of SOCEA, we are pleased to host this important meeting and we intend to contribute actively to SOCEA’s ongoing initiatives. The significance of the cooperation speaks for itself, as we’re talking about the crossing of major traffic flows between Europe and Asia.
